New web site

Postby Darrel Hawthorne » Mon Feb 01, 2010 11:31 am

Hey Guys,

It's live! \:D/

http://www.hawthorneaudio.com/

It is with considerable pride and joy that I announce that our new web site is up and running.
For those of you that didn't know this, Jerry, Diana and I have been spending evenings and weekends completely redoing the main Hawthorne Audio web site.
Our previous web site had gotten way behind in content as well as appearance. We decided to remedy this over this last Holiday break.
Diana and I wrote a ton of new text and added more product. Jerry took this mountain of information and magically transformed it into what you all will see when you visit..
A couple of new features I would like to make mention of.

On the Home page is a navigation bar of the left side of the screen. This is intentionally typical of what you might find when visiting any site.
We have:
About us (where anyone new can meet Diana and I and get the back story on what we are all about)
FAQ ( I finally sat down and wrote up a FAQ page  ) I will add more as we move forward.
Products page ( Typical and intuitive)
Forum
Members Gallery
Reviews
Shopping cart
Information on international sales

Below this is the Affiliates section with direct links to Mac and Choir audio. B_~!@

On the right side is a brief intro to Hawthorne audio and one very cool slide show featuring many of our favorite builds over this past five years. This is so very cool for Diana and I to see and remember as they were submitted. We added pictures of Jerry's Spud amps and John's turntables.

Diana and I would like to publicly thank Jerry for his ongoing support and help with the site, forum, shopping cart and builders gallery. I think we can all agree that he has done a fantastic job and is deserving of a round of applause for this latest effort. =D> =D> =D>

Thanks Jerry,
Darrel :D
p.s. The site is live and fully functional but not 100% complete check back later for additional content and product updates.

As a new user, I can say the new site is much better (more informative, comfortable to use, and upscale). Nice work!

I also agree with John's comments and feel the new version is a little more appropriate for our purposes. We'll continue to work hard to make both the forum and the website valuable to our members and visitors.

The new website looks great!

One question, though ... the shipping weights for the SSI 15" and 10" drivers are listed at 60lbs each ... is this correct, or is this a typo?

I'm guessing it's a typo ... it really kicks the shipping estimate up a notch when you toss a pair of SSI drivers into the shopping cart :)

Welcome to the forum! B_~!@
I can't speak for the weight of the crossover, but a single SSI tweeter and midwoofer are probably 20 pounds or so. I'm sure the XO isn't 40 pounds though.
Some smart guy (or gal  ) will be along shortly to give you better information.

Hello jduan,

Welcome to the forum B_~!@ and thanks for the heads up on the apparent typo.
Good catch, I'll look into it.

Cheers,
Diana :D
